MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The ND/SD NABEC has entered into a cooperative agreement with the Minority Business Development Agency, U. S. Department of Commerce, in furthering the development and stability of Native American business.
This program has been operated by United Tribes Technical College since 1980.
Specific types of Management and Technical Assistance shall include but not limited to the following:
- Marketing
- General Management
- Personnel
- Administration
- Finance & Accounting
ND/SD NABEC offers comprehensive services fitted to your specific need in each of the following categories:

Financial:
- General business counseling, information, and referrals. Assistance in developing business plans.
- Helping to identify financial assistance, loans, loan guarantees, lines of credit with banks, and bonding services.
- Business seminars in such areas as bookkeeping, taxes, cash management, financing, personnel, marketing, and business planning.

Procurement & Marketing:
- Identifying contract procurement opportunities with state and federal agencies, local governments, tribal, and other organizations.
- Assistance in matching the subcontractors with prospective prime contractors.
- Market the minority contractor through trade fairs and minority conferences.
- Assistance in marketing minority business products.
WHO QUALIFIES: Enrolled Native Americans taking residence or who's business will be located within the service area which is North and South Dakota. Interested applicants living outside of the service area may get a referral from the Center to the NABEC located nearest to them.
The ND/SD NABEC will provide assistance free of charge to qualified Native American individuals and firms.
The ND/SD NABEC goal is geared toward the formation and survival of new and existing entrepreneurs. We welcome your interest and inquiry.
The ND/SDNABEC is not a lending institution, but rather a management and technical assistance center. The center will however, assist in locating the appropriate lending source for the development of each client's business. Be advised that most lenders will require your personal investment of at least 25-30% equity contribution. (Cash or assets to be used in the business)
